Le Bangladesh

Le Bangladesh est un état qui est devenu officiellement indépendant en 1971. Ses frontières du nord, de l’ouest et de l’est sont aussi celles de l’Inde. A l’Est se trouve la Birmanie et au sud, le pays s’étend sur le Golfe du Bengale au nord de l’océan Indien.
La plus grande partie de sa côte maritime est une jungle marécageuse, on y trouve la plus grande forêt de mangrove du monde. Une mangrove est un écosystème de marais maritime, peuplée d’une faune et d’une flore très spécifiques. C’est aussi au Bangladesh que se trouve la plage la plus longue du monde. 120 km de long,
Pourtant cette spécificité du Bangladesh, d’être situé dans une partie du monde mêlant zones aquatiques et terres, est source d’inquiétude. Car il est estimé qu’environ 50 % de la superficie du pays serait inondée si le niveau de la mer augmentait d’un mètre
Le Bangladesh est aussi l’un des pays qui connait la plus forte densité de population , c’est à dire l’un des pays où résident le plus gand nombre d’habitants au km², 1102 habitants au km ², dix fois plus qu’en France,
EN 2021, le bangladesh est le troisième exportateur mondial de vêtements derrière la Chine et l’Allemagne
Une partie importante de son économie repose sur l’industrie textile. De nombreuses multinationales occidentales font appel à de la mains d’œuvre du Bangladesh, celle-ci étant l’une des moins chères au monde : 30 euros par mois contre 150 ou 200 euros en Chine
En 2018, la confédération internationale des syndicats pointait le Bangladesh comme l’un pays où se trouvait les plus mauvaise conditions de travail : pressions d’Etat, réponses violentes aux manifestations pacifiques, difficulté à developper des syndicats, polices industrielles,

Mais Quelle est l’histoire du Bangladesh ? comment ce territoire est-il devenu l’une des plus grandes manufacture textile du monde ? Et son peuple l’un des plus pauvres et les plus maltraités?

Plutôt, le Bangladesh faisait partie de l’Empire moghol , qui comprenait une partie de l’Iran, le Pakistan, l’Inde et le Bangladesh
C’est à la fin du 15èm siècle, que les contacts avec différents empires occidentaux se font,
Les portugais arrivent les premiers, puis des explorateurs français, des corsaires et des aventuriers qui arment leurs navires pour atteindre « Cathay » (le nord de la Chine) et « les Indes » pour en rapporter des épices sans intermédiaires.
À partir de 1600, les expéditions commerciales françaises se rendent régulièrement vers l’Asie au départ des ports de Saint-Malo ou de Dieppe.
Mais pas sans être empêchées par les néerlandais qui veulent aussi leur part , puis par les anglais. Des combats entre commerciaux ont souvent lieu en mer
Et Parfois entre des compagnies privées et des compagnies d’État.
Par exemple, pour la France, c’est une compagnie d’État, nommé la Compagnie Française des indes orientales, qui prend le monopole du commerce dans cette partie du monde à partir de 1664.
Conçue par Colbert, signée par Louis XIV , la compagnie a trois missions
• le commerce, notamment pour concurrencer les produits anglais et néerlandais ;
• la politique, en affirmant la présence de la marine française sur les mers  ;
• et une mission culturelle et religieuse , l’évangélisation des non-chrétiens. Malgré le respect pour les savoirs faire et les savoirs être des bengalais qui habillaient et inspirés déjà les habitants les plus fortunés de France grâce à ses indiennes
Les Indiennes
Les indiennes, ce sont des vêtements, des tissus fins et colorés très prisés par les françaises, nous les connaissons aujourd’hui sous le nom de « sari »
Chaque année , ce sont 8 à 10 vaisseaux chargés de ces tissus qui arrivaient à Lorient, en provenance de Pondichéry et de Calcutta et à cette époque c’était beaucoup
Fait étrange : un jour, ce goût déplût au monarque, Louis XIV, qui promulgua une loi en 1689 pour les interdire. Loi qui restera en place de 1689 à 1759  : Le port de ces vêtements peut être puni de la peine des galères et leur vente peuvent conduire à la pendaison ! La vente des tissus colorés n’est autorisé qu’à l’exterieur des frontières françaises , les français n’ont droit de porter en provenance des indes que des cotons blancs.
Malgré cela, une contrebande active, en partie alimentée par les marins de la Compagnie des Indes, approvisionna le marché clandestin et continua à vendre les tissus aux françaises et même aux femmes de tous rangs sociaux.
Mais revenons au Bengale
Au Bengale, c’est une autre histoire, Pendant que les français, les anglais et les néerlandais font leurs commerces et leurs guerres, ce territoire de l’empire Moghols, fait ce qu’il peut sous les assauts des commerciaux,
En 1756, arrive un nouveau Nabab, il succède à son grand-père, il a 23 ans. Un Nabab c’est le titre donné au plus haut responsable politique du territoire,
1756, C’est le moment où les Britanniques, sont en conflit avec les Français sur le sol du Bengale et ce nabab, le dernier nabab, n’a pas l’intention de les laisser faire n’importe quoi, particulièrement concernant la ville de Calcutta. Bien que le grand Moghol ait cédé ce territoire 80 ans auparavant à la Royal Navy, les anglais ont des accords a respecté, comme ne pas fortifier Calcutta pour repousser les français sans autorisation. Alors cette année là, le Nabab lance un ultimatum. Vu qu’il reste sans effet, lui et ses troupes se lancent à l’assault de la ville et remporte la victoire. C’était le 20 juin 1756
Malheureusement, un an et 3 jours plus tard, l’armée impériale britannique débarque au Bengale et l’armée du Bengale est défaite, malgré l’appui apporté par l’artillerie française
C’est alors, Mîr Jafar, l’oncle de l’ancien Nabab, qui a trahi son neveu sur le champ de bataille, qui est placé comme nouvel administrateur par les anglais. Et de terribles famines commencent, comme dans tout le sous continent indien pendant la période coloniale
A partir de cette date, l’armée anglaise avance et annexe sur son passage tous les territoires qui s’étendent vers le nord et vers l’ouest. En 1820, l’emprire britannique tient sous son joug l’ensemble de la région et y developpe des ecoles et des administrations pour faire taire le mecontentement des populations locales utilisait comme main d’oeuvre pour alimenter l’Europe en ballot de coton
Nous arrivons maintenant à l’histoire plus contemporaine du Bangladesh qui ne s’appelle pas encore le Bangladesh
En 1947, les vainceurs de la 2nd guerre mondiale se repartissent le monde encore une fois et le bengale devient une région du Pakistan. L’inde d’un côté, avec la religion hindou et le pakistan, de l’autre, de confession musulmanne. Le nouvel administrateur a fait ses études à Londres et est favorable a l’existence d’un état pour les musulmans,
Et il faudra encore attendre 23 ans, jusqu’en 1970, après de nombreuses pressions et revoltes populaires, pour que s’organisent les premières élections législative au Pakistan. Résultat : Que ce soit à l’ouest ou à l’Est, au Bengale, les mouvements d’opposition l’emportent, contre le pouvoir militaire en place. Sans étonnement, le pouvoir militaire refuse les résultats.
Une bataille s’entame alors, notamment judiciaire.
La guérilla et les troupes du Bengale sont soutenues par l’armée indienne et ensemble ils remportent l’indépendance, le bengale devient officiellement le Bangladesh en 1971
Aujourd’hui, Le Bangladesh est une démocratie parlementaire ayant l’islam comme religion d’État. Les élections sont ouvertes à tout citoyen au-dessus de 18 ans et se tiennent tous les cinq ans pour renouveler le parlement monocaméral de 300 sièges, 50 sièges étant réservées aux femmes
L’hymne nationale que nous allons maintenant entendre a été adopté lors de l’indépendance en 1971. La musique et les paroles ont été composées par Rabindranath Tagore, également auteur de l’hymne indien. Son titre : Amar Shonar Bangla , « mon Bengale Doré »
